Beauty Protector.

PRODUCT ALERT! Beauty Protector “protect and detangle” leave in conditioner.

I have a confession – I have a lot of really fine hair. AKA easily tangled and since I have some curls, a pain to brush through.  This spray is great; instant detangler, thermal protector, UV protector, smooths hair, locks in color, adds shine, is weightless, non-greasy, conditions your hair and can be used for all hair types daily.

I love this product for a variety of reasons. Smoothing my hair out, adding shine and protecting from thermal heat are all some of the main reasons this product is amazing. OH – and the smell is great too!  In all seriousness, being able to keep my fly aways under control is the main concern, especially with the more humid weather coming around.

I highly suggest this product to everyone – go grab yours today!

Make up – Bare Minerals, Hair products- Tresseme and Davine’s “All in one” spray, Teami tumbler in blue with Soice Merchants chai tea, Loft romper, blazer, tights and necklace.

Teami tumbler – I love this tumbler. Perfect for on the go when you need to strain your tea leaves. Also, keeps tea warm (or cold if iced) for a long time, making it easy to make it through a day of work.

I love the spice merchants chai tea. Such a vibrant taste but not too sweet or too bitter. I like to think of it as hitting a sweet spot for me right in the middle! If you have a tea that you really love – please share! I love trying new teas and I’m open to all suggestions.

Okay – my look. This was a fun one for me! I paired a summery romper (Loft) with some navy tights (Loft), crisp, white blazer (Loft) and black booties (Payless). I love mixing seasonal looks to create something original, in fact, this look I have never thought to put together. It really was a great statement and I had some really great, encouraging feedback from people about it too.

I love getting feedback from those around me, or my fashion friends. It’s nice to hear “WOW!” or “I love how unique your outfit is”. It really helps me to branch out, try new things. I can get in such a rut where I don’t try new looks, or even try to change things up to make them fresh looking. Especially in the winter time I find I have a hard time trying to change anything other than a chunky sweater color. So this year I’m trying something new – so far, it’s been great! This romper is really great because it’s a dark navy and has some texture to it as well. My favorite part is the clasp in the front – aka cleavage control, which I need. This necklace is so great too because it’s so simple, yet elegant and feminine. A fun look. I prefer big, chunky statement pieces over dainty, long necklaces. This being out of my norm was key for me to trying something new. Thankful Loft was able to make sure a great, versatile piece of jewelry. Upload some of your favorite looks and tag me – I love blazers and rompers so be sure to share yours! #stylebyleanne

modern coatigan.

Well, Loft did it again. They created another coatigan that I cannot resist buying. This beaut is called the modern coatigan. I am 100% obsessed with it. From the moment I slipped it onto my arms I knew we were meant to be together forever. Best part of this coatigan? It is long enough and reached my wrists like a normal sweater should! AND IT HAS POCKETS!

Warmth was also a factor in this purchase. I rarely wear jackets in the fall – I can’t seem to find one that I love or that fits just right. This is the perfect substitute! It’s a little bit on the heavier side, but still layerable, so great to throw on while walking out the door. Normally I try to avoid black sweaters. I feel like you can end up with a thousand of them and they will never be worn.. but after some deliberation I decided this wouldn’t be one of those sweaters. It’s versatility was created perfectly.

Loft designed a coatigan that would have all the features needed to make this a staple piece for the Fall and winter seasons. Texture, durability, comfort and a classic look makes this worth every penny. Lets talk length – this coatigan is perfect for me (aka a tall gal over 6 feet). A few of my more petite coworkers didn’t have as great of luck as I did. For you shorter gorls be careful! Don’t shorten yourself more with a long, big cardigan. It can give an awful frumpy look that isn’t becoming on a lady shorter in stature. OOTD details: Loft modern coatigan, Loft layering tank, Loft modern skinny jeans, Zinnia scarf and Charming Charlie earrings.

lofty layers.

I love to layer my looks. I’ve been on quite the kick lately with layering too – this look was from the other day while I was working at Loft. Finding the right layering tank can be really difficult. I find that they are never quite long enough for me or the fabric is not comfortable. There is nothing worse than buying a layering tank and having it be bunched up in your outfit – literally the most uncomfortable thing EVER. This tank is great and came in a few different colors – yes, I have them all. It’s light, flowy and flattering.

I know I have gloated about the modern skinny jeans from Loft. Well, I am going to gloat again. Loft has two kinds of jeans/pants Modern and Curvy jeans and then the Marisa/Julie dress pants.  I wear the modern skinny jeans, slimmer through the thighs and fits me perfect in the hips. For you curvy gals- the curvy jeans have a little more room in the hips/thighs. Try them out today!  This jacket has been making more appearances lately too – it is from last season at Loft. It is too short in the sleeves/length BUT I like it that way. Just about everything is too short in the sleeves for me, I am the queen of rolling up the sleeves into a modern “I meant to wear it this way” sort of way.

Shop Tobi.

I was searching for the perfect bralette for an outfit I’ve been working on putting together. WELL, thankfully my cousin had mentioned how she had shopped at Tobi. I was skeptical, as any tall girl would be, about shopping online at this particular place. Well, I fear no more! I bought two pretty bralettes and a shirt on final sale – then with a first time customer discount spent $30ish in total.

I am happy with my purchase! These bralettes made me nervous as I am busty. I bought them both in large – they are both a little bit on the small side (if you are bigger than a 36D I wouldn’t suggest these particular styles. They are manageable – obviously wouldn’t go running around or doing anything crazy but for a cute outfit thrown together they are perfect.

Quality – review coming soon. I haven’t had to wash them yet, although I imagine in a delicate bag and gentle cycle they will survive just fine.
I love the stitching and lace. It has a really feminine look that gives your outfit a little edge and sex appeal in a classy way. I bought a low cut black tee (also from Tobi) and paired my bralette and a Loft tank for some extra coverage/support. This look – paired here with some Lou & Grey leggings – was SO comfortable. I didn’t want to change, it was a great outfit for lounging around.  But when it was time to go out for dinner, some dark skinny jeans and black booties were a great addition.

I would highly recommend the intimates from Tobi at this point. More reviews will be coming soon depending my next few purchases, so far I am pleased!

So now that it’s almost spring time – I need to get as much use out of my fall/winter clothes as possible. This sweater will be one of them. (Currently on sale for 60% off for just today!) I almost bought it in all the other colors but had to restrain my wallet. Loft has had some great sales this weekend. 40% off full priced merchandise and 50% off sale until today when they had a one day 60% off! I hope all your ladies stocked up on some goodies. We have quite a few new pieces, I’ve been mixing and matching pieces from this year and the last few years.

That’s one thing I love about Loft, their products are timeless. Always able to use each year! Finding a brand I would be able to do that with was NOT easy. I love that I can use my sweaters and jeans from years ago and make the outfits chic for today’s styles and trends. These modern skinny jeans are one of my favorite washes and they are so soft. I love the way they brighten up my scarf too. Really draws out the blue hues.

You will be seeing a lot more of this sweater, and these jeans! Grab them today! or stop by a store. Today’s sales might be ending soon though, hurry hurry!OOTD: Loft floppy hat, Loft sweater, Loft modern skinny jeans and scarf from The Paper Store.

Forever He is glorified.

This past weekend was an emotional one for me. I lead worship at my church (Osterville Baptist Church, Osterville MA) which isn’t abnormal for me. I sing almost every week and lead here and there. I’ve been “in training” for some time now to be a worship leader. I have to say, I love it. It’s the most insane position I’ve ever been in. The amount of blood, sweat and tears I put into these services is unreal sometimes. But there are some days that I just sit here praying, “why me?” I AM SO INADEQUATE!!! I am nothing, can I really do this? I questioned it for a while – is this what I should be doing? Singing? Leading people? Me? I have to say, I don’t have all the answers but if there is one thing I know – I love to worship. I love to sing, I love singing with my church family.

I am a 27 year old sinner. I am so beyond broken at times. There are days that literally all I can do is sing. There are days that I feel like the only way I can truly communicate how I feel is to sing. Singing is my outlet, it’s my way of expressing, crying, praising. Song lyrics can absolutely WRECK ME. People don’t get it sometimes. I get it, I’m one of the only 20- something year olds that go to church (willingly). I need it, I found a place that feeds my soul. They want to do life with me. Most of these people don’t even know me. They don’t know what I’ve done (God help them if they ever find out). I use to wonder what people would think if they actually knew my story, where I have been. Some would be absolutely shocked, others wouldn’t believe me.

I’ve come a long way. I am thankful that I have a mother who loves me enough to encourage me even when she may not understand it. She listens to my stresses, my song choices and the endless amounts of singing. Leaving the Catholic Church was a big deal, people thought I was jumping off the deep end. I was – I was jumping into a church that has NEVER shown me judgement. They have opened their doors, arms and hearts to me, and my family, on many occasions. You cannot find that everywhere and that’s sad. This place is so special.

Our previous Worship Pastor Dave saw something in me, and he helped implement the tools I needed to explore this calling that is so evident in my life now. I am SO thankful for this man. In many ways, starting to lead worship at OBC has saved my life. I get to grow deeper in my faith AND sing. I am challenged, encouraged and loved. I’m now working with our new Worship Pastor, Kimo. Kimo and Dave are amazing mentors. They have really poured so much time into my life. Not just worship, my LIFE.

This church is amazing, God is so good. I have amazing pastors – they are so encouraging. They really care for people. They check in, they pray for me and my family. They show me who Jesus is every single day. Being a Christian is more than just words, it’s acting. You need to BE Jesus to those around you. Be a good person, be a light in a world of darkness. I try to be a good person, a light. I fall short, this I am sure of, but I try to be that person. I feel that OBC really helps shape me for heaven. They show me pieces of heaven every day, and on Sunday mornings (when I am singing and absolutely wrecked and barely keeping my emotions in check) I feel the love of heaven.

This weekend was probably the most crazy, emotional and exhausting service I have planned. Every second of that service I gave everything I had. I cried, rejoiced and felt overwhelmed with emotions. I danced around (as I always do while I am leading) and abandoned everything. Nothing was going to stop me from giving my all. It was an unreal service. I don’t know what more to say. The preaching was phenomenal, as always, and the Holy Spirit’s presence was….. all around. It was unreal. OH! Another thing – this worship team is amazing too. The tech team, singers, band. They have also been so supportive. They make taking on this journey something that I feel I can do. I couldn’t make it through a Sunday without them.

I just am so thankful for this church. I am thankful for a support system. I am thankful that Pastor Dave took a chance on a girl who was in such a bad place and helped her see there is more to life than where I was at that moment. I am thankful for an everlasting King! I am thankful for a mother who supports me, comes to my services, and never judged me through my journey at OBC. She always encouraged me to find a place that would nurture my faith. A place where I belong.

I finally found that place, I found a home.

Bell sleeves?

I’ve never been a fan of the peasant look (you know – ruffles, ties and really big/blousey.) I was at work the other day and something inspired me to try on this blouse. I’m not sure why to be honest. It was a cream color (bad for me since I’m a slob and have a tendency to spill or fall.) and had these huge bell sleeves. I went into the fitting room, after much resistance from my fellow Loft girls, and emerged wearing this top. Honestly, I’m obsessed.

I don’t know what it is, there was something so flirty and feminine about it. I felt amazing. The cut was fun, fabric flows but not in an unflattering manner. It was a great piece and I had nothing like it. I just kept imagining what I would pair it with. Came up with some great ideas and before I knew it I was paying for it and bringing it home.

I also added a gold necklace to wear with this. It gathers mid clavicle and then has a drop piece with a small stone. I imagined this shirt and that necklace tucked into it. Feminine, gives it a little “something something”, an edge and mystery. Is there a stone at the end of this necklace? How long is it? Well, you’ll never know because it’s tucked into my blouse. I love feeling like I have a secret no one knows. I mean that’s one of the main reasons I buy nice underwear or lingerie. It’s the anticipation factor, I have an edge and a secret.

So – not only did I snag this top but it was on sale for 60% off for the flash sale. Worth every penny! I am so thankful to my gut that forced me to try something new. ALSO! These modern skinny pants are amazing. They come in this cranberry color as well as a dark green. I found that this cranberry color gave me a very curvy look, while the green I found to be more slimming. Just my own two cents – colors can be tricky, don’t need to be adding any additional curvage to my thighs.

Long story short, go to Loft. Check it out online – 60% off ends today.

Fun fact: I love wearing clothes year round. Wearing tank tops with thick cardigans, jackets or sweaters – shorts or a romper with tights and a sweater? I love it. Clothing does not HAVE to be boxed up into a season for use. My style is versatile. I want to use it whenever I want to, and I want to make it unique to my day.

I find that making a unique look is fun for me. I love creating something new, and having people comment and say “I love the way you look today, I would never think to do that.” This look was pairing all seasons; long jeans from my fall/winter stock, my tweed jacket from my fall collections and a tank from spring/summer. All wrapped up into one preppy, feminine look!

This look is all Loft. Modern skinny denim – perfect for a long, slim look. A patterned layering tank, tweed long sleeved jacket and a floppy hat. The flattering cut of this tweed jacket is one of my favorite things about it. The zipper is great and the neckline folds fall just right. Also, you can zip her up all the way and button the top – which is another great look that I should try more often.

Jacket – size medium

Tank – size medium

Jeans – modern skinny, size 10 long.

Working what you’ve got.

There are few things in this world that are “old school”. Everything is instant, can have it in the touch of a button. The classics are rarely appreciated by our younger generations and people don’t know what the classics even are. Classics are bow ties, paisley prints and flare jeans. Styles that have been put aside, yet are slowly being reintroduced into our world.

I found an old paisley printed scarf hanging on the back of my door the other day. It  made me excited; immediately I changed my outfit to surround this scarf and wore it proudly. I have been really working on going through my closet and wearing every item I own. Pulling out some classics and making them new again by styling them in a way I’ve never worn them before. It’s a challenge that I can thank Alexis Atarian (@alexisatarian) for – we connected through the #coasttocoastchallenge that we both would take part of, and as I followed her page over these last few years I learned that she challenges her instagram followers to “work with what you got”.

I love this idea – the idea of using what you have, don’t let anything go to waste. I spend quite a bit on clothes, granted I am fortunate working for Loft. I don’t want to waste any of my hard earned pennies. I challenge myself to use what I have, make a piece brand new again by revamping it. It’s been so fulfilling doing this, and I am thankful for Alexis’ sweet heart and her frugal fashion ways.

So today, I challenge you to also work with what you got! I’ve been doing it for a few years now and I love it, it’s challenging and fun! See what you can come up with.

About this look: Sweater is Lou & Grey (@louandgrey), scarf is The Paper Store (@thepaperstore), jeans are Loft (@loft) and necklace is from Charming Charlie (@charmingcharlie).
